CONSULTANCY

Specialist engineering expertise through our partner network, matched to your project’s technical challenges.

About us

Connecting research and implementation.

Monolith Labs is a multidisciplinary engineering team with extensive experience in prototype development. We bring together mechanical, electronic, and software engineering to turn research concepts into practical solutions that can be built, tested, and refined.

We engage with projects as early as TRL 1, when basic principles are first observed. We develop experimental setups to investigate phenomena and establish proof of concept, advance existing breadboard systems, and help prepare prototypes for series production.

Our partners typically include research institutes, universities, and R&D organisations. Our approach centres on understanding research objectives, maintaining clear technical communication, and guiding development through test results.

Development process

Starting where your project stands.

A research question, a working breadboard, and a prototype ready for production each call for a different engineering approach. We tailor the development process to your project’s current stage and the objectives we define together.

  • 01

    Understanding and scoping

We review the research objectives, existing results, and technical requirements. Together, we identify open questions and define the project scope, milestones, and evaluation criteria.

  • 02

    Concept and design

We develop the technical concept and coordinate mechanical, electronic, and software design. Where needed, we investigate critical operating principles using dedicated experimental setups.

  • 03

    Build and test

We turn designs into working equipment. Following assembly, we test performance against the agreed requirements and use the results to refine the solution.

  • 04

    Handover and further development

We deliver the equipment with the agreed technical documentation. We can also support subsequent modifications, further prototype iterations, and preparation for series production.
